Gigs of 2017

Kings of Leon @ FlyDSA Arena, Sheffield (formerly Motorpoint Arena)
Loyle Carner @ Tramlines Festival, Sheffield. A real talent who knows how to work both the mic and the crowd.
The Districts @ Fruit,  Hull. What a fucking band, maturing with each album but maintaining an originality brimming the kind of riotous, indie-rock punch we desperately need in the face of today's sorry state of music affairs.
Mr Jukes @ The Leadmill, Sheffield. Such an authentic, energetic performance; a real treat to see a band having an absolute blast doing what they love.
Wolf Alice @ Rock City, Nottingham. It's always a pleasure seeing these lot, even if you do leave sodden in a concoction of sweat and smatterings of Red Stripe tossed asunder.
Fleet Foxes @ O2 Apollo, Manchester. After preying somewhat pathetically for years that Fleet Foxes release new material, that finally happened in 2017, and H.O.L.Y. shit was it worth the wait. Seeing them perform live was incredibly special, something I hasten to label an experience, that most cliched of gig gratification, so will simply call a privilege.
